Beale Street at Nightv2

Situated along the mighty Mississippi River, Memphis is the largest city in the state of Tennessee and is recognized as the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll, the home of the blues and the starting point of soul.  Music legends including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, B.B. King and Otis Redding have made their marks on Memphis, where you can still hear their influences today.

The iconic Beale Street and Graceland, along with the National Civil Rights Museum (the Lorraine Motel, the site of M.L. King’s assassination), are attractions not to be missed when visiting Memphis.

And, of course, since 1976 Memphis has played host to some of the greatest professional tennis players. In fact, nine year-end world No. 1s have won the event including John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors, Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras.
